Location

Titilaka is strategically located on a private peninsula in front of Chucuito peninsula, on Lake Titicaca, Puno. Bounded by scenic Andean landscapes and one of the most exceptional geographic locations of the highland plateaus, it reminds us of the Scottish highlands or the Patagonia, with a clear crisp blue air and intense sunlight shining on the vast pastures. Titilaka is located on the western Peruvian coast of Lake Titicaca, amidst small hamlets of Quechua and Aymara cultures scattered around the lake or at the base of small hills to protect themselves from the high winds and strong sun. The hotel has its own private road and small jetty and outstanding views of both sunrise and sunset over the lake.

Lake Titicaca is the world's highest lake navigable to large vessels, at 12,500 feet (3,810 meters) above sea level in the Andes Mountains of South America, astride the border between Peru to the west and Bolivia to the east. It covers some 3,200 square miles (8,300 square km) is 50 miles (80 km) across at its widest point, with an average depth of 107 meters.

Titilaka is located 1.5 hours from Juliaca airport (approx. 80 km.), 45 minutes south of the city of Puno and 20 minutes by boat from the Taquile and Amantani islands, between Puno and the Bolivian border. It can be reached by car or train from Cusco and also by car from Arequipa. You can also arrive at Titilaka via Bolivia.
