Tucked amidst a sea of green mountain walls, lined with trees that sway with the wind’s breeze, sits Inkaterra Hacienda Urubamba. From a panoramic view, this contemporary hotel with colonial inspiration appears somewhat small in comparison to the majestic mountains that tower over the hacienda.
Once you’ve reached the hotel’s entrance, what you initially believed to be a toy-sized hotel, now stands in its grandeur.
Inkaterra Hacienda Urubamba tells a different part of the Inca story: one of life in the empire’s heartland. Built as a traditional Peruvian casa hacienda, guests are invited to soak up the culture and spiritual environment of the sacred Urubamba valley – one of the many reasons the National Geographic Society has welcomed the magnificent hacienda to its unique lodges of the world portfolio.
The property surrounds a farmland, that is home to an organic plantation. Guests can immerse themselves in the local farming community by picking their own produce from quinoa and artichokes to the Urubamba giant corn as part of the “pachamama“ (Earth to Plate) concept.
The beauty continues to stun when entering the hacienda. With floor-to-ceiling windows, the spectacular surroundings can be viewed throughout the luxurious hotel.
The beautifully crafted wooden beams and furniture are made from local materials and the interior design is inspired by the exquisite architecture of the Cusco region.
If you have any comments about your stay at Inkaterra Hacienda Urubamba, we’d be delighted to hear from you.
