The 10-acre organic farm at Inkaterra Hacienda Urubamba (Sacred Valley) produces carbon-free crops such as quinoa, Urubamba giant corn and a variety of potatoes, as well as medicinal herbs. Nurtured with traditional hand tools and oxen as done centuries ago, the in-house farm enhances a sustainable supply chain for Inkaterra hotels and local markets in the Cusco region.
At the hotel grounds of Inkaterra Machu Picchu Pueblo Hotel, fruits and vegetables native to the Andes, are produced for research purposes. Sustainable hive harvesting is practiced to source bee honey to Inkaterra hotels. The organic tea plantation shares with travelers millenary harvesting techniques.
