Bird banding is a useful scientific tool, based on catching, marking and releasing bird species in a given area and during determined timeframes. Valuable data is registered with each capture, such as species identification, morphological descriptions including gender and age, and demographic estimates from the migratory and native bird populations within various habitats.

In a strategic alliance with Savia Peru and Petroperú, Inkaterra Asociación conducts a Bird Banding and Environmental Education Program for tourism development in El Alto, Pariñas and IBA Talara.
