Explorer Guide at Inkaterra Hacienda Concepción
Born in Puerto Maldonado in 1986, Charles showed since his childhood a great enthusiasm for nature and animals, as well as for learning English. After graduating from high school he started travelling throughout Peru, Bolivia and Brazil to learn of diverse cultures. When he was 17, he worked as radio speaker and publicist in a music show, which allowed him to cover his studies at the Jorge Basadre Grohmann Institute to become an Official Tour Guide. In 2008 he volunteered in a research project to identify medicinal plants in Tambopata, which led Charles to expand his knowledge on local flora. After being part of the Explorer Guides team at Reserva Amazonica currently we can find him at Inkaterra Hacienda Concepción, where he continues exploring ecosystems in the Peruvian rainforest.
Pedro
Explorer Guide at Inkaterra Hacienda Concepcion
Pedro completed his studies as an Official Guide of Tourism in the city of Puerto Maldonado. He worked for different companies focused on Ecotourism, where he received several training courses acquiring and strengthening his knowledge. Currently, Pedro is part of the Inkaterra explorer guides team at Inkaterra Hacienda Concepcion, delighting travelers with his knowledge of nature and wildlife.
Luis
Explorer Guide at Inkaterra Hacienda Concepción
Luis was born in the city of Cusco. He spent part of his childhood in the province of Urubamba where he finished his upper studies. He then moved to Lima to undergo his Tourism and Hotel Management studies at Inca Garcilaso de la Vega University. His great interest in working on sustainable tourism projects led him to contribute to the conservation of the natural wildlife in Quillabamba. Later, he obtained his Tourism degree. Thanks to his ancestral roots, he speaks Quechua language. Today, we find Luis at Inkaterra Hacienda Concepción working as a nature guide.
Jorge
Explorer Guide at Inkaterra Hacienda Concepción
Jorge was born in the city of Puerto Maldonado. He grew up in a family dedicated to agriculture and extraction of natural resources such as Brazilian nut and others, where he developed his passion for nature. He studied at the SENATIPrivate Institute, successfully graduating from the Tourism career. Then, he applied to the ranger position at the Tambopata National Reserve, where he worked for 5 years contributing to research and biological monitoring. Nowadays, Jorge is part of inkaterra explorer guides at Inkaterra Hacienda Concepción, sharing his extensive knowledge and offering an extraordinary experience to the travelers who visit the Amazon rainforest.
Sergio
Explorer Guide at Inkaterra Hacienda Concepción
Sergio was born in the province of Manu, in the region of Madre de Dios. He spent his childhood in Puerto Maldonado along his mother and his four younger siblings. He studied the official “Tourism Guide” career in SENATI, to work on different small companies of the region where he understood the importance and behavior of each living being in the Amazon. Sergio is now at Inkaterra Hacienda Concepción working as a guide explore, proud of the richness in his birthplace.
Rúber
Head Explorer Guide at Inkaterra Hacienda Concepción
Ruber was born in 1982 in Madre de Dios. He finished primary and secondary school in Puerto Maldonado and decided to study auto mechanics at a local school. One day, while walking around town, he met a friend who invited him to work in tourism for a country house in the Amazon. Since there Ruber discovered his true calling. Soon after, he studied English in Cusco to start his journey in becoming an Official Tour Guide. Once he got back to Madre de Dios he began working for several lodges and gradually learned to recognize a wide variety of flora and fauna as well as to understand many of the uses of medicinal plants in the forest. Today we have the pleasure of working with Ruber at the Inkaterra Reserva Amazonica who captivates travelers with his skills and knowledge of the Peruvian rainforest.
Anajosi T.
Explorer Guide at Inkaterra Hacienda Concepción
Anajosi was born in the Madre de Dios. She lived in Lima in her early childhood, but her family returned to Puerto Maldonado to reestablish themselves in the Peruvian Amazon. Since her school years she felt attracted towards nature, which encouraged her to study to Tourism at SENATI, following her older sister’s experience.
She started her career on field guidance with French travelers, which allowed her to learn a foreign language. She is currently member of the Explorer Guides team at Inkaterra Hacienda Concepción, where she enjoys living surrounded by flora and fauna.
Hugo
Assistant Explorer Guide at Inkaterra Hacienda Concepcion
Hugo, the eldest of four brothers from a family of farmers, was born in Lima but never lived in the capital. He grew up in a community near Puerto Maldonado city. At the end of his primary education, Hugo moved to Puerto Maldonado, though he had already spent much of his life interacting with nature in the rainforest. At age 16, Hugo finished high school and left his family to work in the timber, mining, and the Brazil nut industry. These jobs would later help afford his university studies in tourism.
He worked for many years as a freelance guide where he visited many tourist destinations in Madre de Dios. After almost six years working as an Explorer Guide at Inkaterra Reserva Amazonica, Hugo is now part of Inkaterra Hacienda Concepcion, where he continues developing his native fishing skills while sharing with travelers his love for botany.
Justo P.
Explorer Guide at Inkaterra Hacienda Concepcion
Justo was born in Tambopata, in the Madre de Dios region. His family is originally from Bolivia. He spent his childhood days in a farm, surrounded by Amazonian biodiversity. During his vacations, he worked on harvesting, agriculture and Brazil nut collection. His passion on nature was inspired by his father’s lessons on medicinal plants, local remedies and survival techniques in the jungle.
In 2002 Justo graduated as an official tour guide. He started working with an American orchid specialist, who helped him learn English and French. After his first professional experience he worked in almost every tourism company in the area. After being part of the Inkaterra Explorer Guides team in Inkaterra Reserva Amazonica, Justo became a guide at Inkaterra Hacienda Concepción, where he shares his childhood experiences with travelers.
Mirko
Explorer Guide at Inkaterra Hacienda Concepcion
The last of seven siblings and originally from Puerto Maldonado, his interest in flora and fauna is a family tradition as they have dedicated to the harvest of brazil nut for generations. He studied at Tecnologico Jorge Basadre Groham where he discovered his passion for exploration and adventure tourism. Mirko is part of the Explorer Guides team at Hacienda Concepción and specializes in fauna with a special interest in mammals.
