NEWSLETTER MARCH 2020

The global situation we are living nowadays poses challenging times for us all, but rest assured that soon we will thrive through solidarity, innovation, and resilience.
It is a moment to be safe, to stay at home with our loved ones. However, the rewards of technology provide us an essential tool to be well informed, to nurture our sense of community, and to keep our spirits high. We encourage you to plan your upcoming holiday across Peru – from the evergreen Amazon rainforest to the wonders of Machu Picchu. Our Inkaterra family will welcome you with sheer enthusiasm.
We are in step with the health and safety measures declared by the Peruvian Government – though we remain available to you as always. Your e-mails and calls are attended as per usual (well, maybe not as quickly). Our Inkaterra professionals are working to meet all your needs in all the ways you have come to expect from us, assisting you with every step of your reservation.
I am confident that the hospitality industry will soon recover, as we all know how essential it is to travel. Tourism is a source of inspiration for everyone, everywhere, as we humans need to move, to explore, and to experience the diversity of nature and culture abroad. Travel makes us wiser and more empathic. It allow us to feel free. Eventually, COVID-19 will fade away. Your travel bucket list will not.

INKATERRA WINS THE
2020 TRAVEL + LEISURE GLOBAL VISION AWARD

Our travelers’ continuous, unconditional support gives us a reason to celebrate amid trying times. Influential US magazine Travel + Leisure (American Express Group) announced Inkaterra among this year’s honorees for its prestigious Global Vision Award.
“We are deeply grateful for Travel + Leisure’s recent acknowledgement, a validation of our 45-year effort in placing scientific research, biodiversity conservation and sustainability at the very core of our business,” stated ecotourism pioneer José Koechlin, Inkaterra’s founder and CEO. “This award also reminds us all that the natural environment and native cultures are tourism’s most precious resources, and the hospitality industry is not heading anywhere without their conservation.”
Previously, Travel + Leisure named Inkaterra the world’s third best hotel brand in its 2019 World’s Best Awards. According to the publication, “Since its founding in 1975, the company — the first Peruvian business to be certified carbon-neutral — has built a collection of seven stunning hotels in the wilderness of the Peruvian Amazon and high in the Andes Mountains. Each property integrates a robust model for both studying and nurturing the environment”.
The Travel + Leisure Global Vision Award honors companies, individuals, destinations, and organizations taking strides to develop more sustainable and responsible travel products, practices, and experiences. “Not only are they demonstrating thought leadership and creative problem-solving, they are taking actionable, quantifiable steps to protect communities and environments around the world… What’s more, they are inspiring their industry colleagues and travelers to do their part,” the editorial staff says about hotel brands acting as a force of change in their destinations.
